Scott City High School hosted the Future Business Leaders of America district competition in February.
Each spring, students from Southeast Missouri compete in business-related bouts. Ten schools competed in parliamentary procedure, accounting skills, economic skills, business law, mock job interview, computer concepts, speed writing and business math.
Scott City brought home several awards:
First place -- Shannon Rose, Ms. Future Business Leader; Tim Froggatt, computer applications; Sara Emerson, Shelly Estes, Shannon Rose, Joey Ruth and Brandon Swanner in parliamentary procedures; Angela DeLaCruz, Brant Gunther and Neil Sanders in entrepreneurship; and Adam Andrews, Patrick Johnson and Howie Stubenrauch in chapter exhibit.
Second place -- John Flynn in public speaking; Brant Gunther in impromptu speaking; Carrie Wendel in shorthand; and Carrie Wendel and Margaret Stepek in poster.
Third place -- Adam Andrews in business communication I; Paul Kester in computer concepts; Todd Killian in economics; Joey Ruth in job interview; Stacy Robey in information processing concepts; and John Flynn in Mr. Future Business Leader.
Fourth place -- Sara Emerson in keyboarding applications; Kristi Glueck in accounting I; Jeremy Smith in business communications I; Stacy Robey in computer concepts; and Robbie Vetter in business calculations.
Fifth place -- Geri Stubenrauch in accounting II; Kristi Glueck in economics; Jeremy Smith in business math; and Shelly Estes in business procedures.
Sixth place -- Tim Froggatt in information processing concepts; Michael Keller in word processing; and Bill Chromzack in business law.
Seventh place -- Jamie Graviett in business law and Tisha Baily in introduction to business.
Eighth place -- Todd Killian in accounting II; Geri Stubenrauch in business procedures and Kara Dodson in introduction to business.
