SCOTT CITY -- During the holiday season, you can be a hero to one of the thousands of hospital patients in the area who will need blood, says Dorothy Dees, chairman of an upcoming blood drive in Scott City.

St. Joseph Catholic Church will host a blood drive on Sunday, Dec. 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 604 Sycamore St. in Scott City.

To be eligible to give blood in Missouri, donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be at least 17 years of old, and be in good health. Donors should bring their driver's license for identification.
