The region's largest science fair and competition for high school students will be held today at Southeast Missouri State University.
The 56th annual Southeast Missouri Regional Science Fair is planned to be larger than in years past, with 33 participating schools and 462 students.
The public can view experiments beginning at 3:30 p.m. , and an awards ceremony for students will begin at 6:30 p.m. All events will be held in the Show Me Center. Judges will view entries starting at 1 p.m. with students present. The junior division of competition will cover projects in 12 categories for seventh- and eighth-grade students from 23 schools. The senior division will have six categories for ninth- through 12th-grade students from 10 schools. Setup begins at 9 a.m.
