The Cape Girardeau Board of Education will meet Wednesday to discuss how to go about recruiting and hiring three top administrators.
Earlier this month, the board fired Superintendent Neyland Clark and Human Resources Director Tim Niggle, effective today. Dr. Richard Bollwerk, assistant superintendent, will serve as interim superintendent.
High School Principal Dan Tallent had previously submitted his resignation, effective at the end of the school year.
When the board announced that it was buying out the remaining two years of Clark's contract, it also said a national superintendent search is planned.
Superintendents begin looking for new jobs in January.
Bollwerk said the board didn't want to wait until its regularly scheduled meeting Jan. 16 to begin talking about the process.
At Wednesday's meeting, a representative from the Missouri School Boards Association will offer suggestions and options for recruiting.
Bollwerk said a time line needs to be established and the board must decide how much it wants to spend to conduct the search.
