Registration is open for schools wanting to participate in the fifth annual Southeast Missouri Regional Spelling Bee on March 8, 2014, at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
According to a news release issued by Three Rivers College, participating schools must complete their registration by Oct. 15 and complete a schoolwide spelling bee before Feb. 7 to participate. The top three contestants from each qualifying school will be eligible for the regional spelling bee in Poplar Bluff, with the winner receiving an expenses-paid trip to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., the release said.
The release said all public, private, parochial, and home schools within the spelling bee's 17-county region are welcome. Participating counties are: Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Crawford, Iron, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, St. Francois, Ste.
