Elections are scheduled Tuesday in Nell Holcomb and Oak Ridge school district despite the fact that no races exist.
Incumbents in both districts are running unopposed.
Oak Ridge Superintendent Roger Tatum said Missouri law allows several governmental entities to forgo an election if candidates are unopposed. But school boards are specifically excluded.
Running for election in Oak Ridge are Richard Leo Baer and Stephen J. Schonhoff. Both are incumbents. Baer is completing his first term, and Schonhoff is completing his third term.
"As long as they get one vote, they will be elected," Tatum said.
The same situation exists in the Nell Holcomb district.
Seeking election in Nell Holcomb are Charles W. Roberts and Dwayne K. Kirchhoff. Both are incumbents. Roberts is completing his second term. Kirchhoff is completing his second term.
