School bus mishap causes power outage

An accident involving a school bus left some temporarily without power early Wednesday morning.

At 7:20 a.m., a bus made a turn in the parking lot of Rhodes 101 Stop Convenience Store at West End Boulevard and Independence Street, hitting guy wires to a power pole, Cape Girardeau police reported. The impact broke some power lines and knocked out power for some living in the area.

No one was injured, and there were no passengers on the bus.
