Filing for the April 8 municipal election in Perryville, Mo., which includes three school board positions, begins at 8 a.m. Dec. 17 and ends 5 p.m. Jan. 21.
The spots up on the Perry County District 32 School Board are held by G. Scott Cooper, Jeff Weibrecht and Scott Hotop.
Board members are not paid and serve a three-year term.
New board members are required by state law to complete 16 hours of orientation and training for within one year of their election.
The board of education regularly meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
Those who would like to serve on the board should file with board secretary Barb Hagan at the school board office at 326 College St. in Perryville.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens at least 24 years old, a resident taxpayer of the school district and been a resident of Missouri for at least one year. There is no filing fee.
The board office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, but will be closed from Dec. 23 through Jan. 6 for Christmas break.
