Cape Girardeau's Board of Education will meet Monday at 5 p.m. for a special meeting to consider personnel issues.
The agenda includes two items under the topic personnel -- employment and a staff member's leave of absence.
Superintendent Neyland Clark said Friday that the special meeting was called so teachers could be hired.
"The board informed me they were considering moving the July board meeting from July 11 to the 13," Clark said. Clark talked with administrators and determined that some teaching positions needed to be filled before that date.
"Basically we're hiring teachers," he said.
