FROHNA -- The 14th annual Saxon Memorial Fall Festival will be held here Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..

The festival's features include arts and crafts, quilting, spinning, soap-making, apple-cider pressing, meat-grinding, broom-making, and crosscut sawing. Apple-butter cooking in 30-gallon copper kettles over open fires again will be a main feature.

Plans call for a "Schnitzelbank" skit and singing of German folk songs by children from Concordia Trinity Lutheran School.

Plate dinners of German potato salad, cole slaw, porkburgers or bratwurst and sauerkraut will be available along with many refreshments.

Free parking will be available and there is no admission charge. Visors are asked to contribute for the work of the memorial when they arrive.

The memorial is owned and operated by Concordia Historical Institute of St. Louis. Victor and Hilda Snyder, resident curators of the memorial, will host the festival.
