ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A federal judge rules that the co-founder of Savvis Communications Corp. must remain jailed until his trial on charges of extortion and making threats.
U.S. District Judge E. Richard Webber ruled Monday that Andrew Gladney poses a danger to the community. The Internet entrepreneur is accused of trying to extort $100,000 from a brother-in-law in Virginia.
Prosecutors say Gladney has continued to send harassing letters to the man and his family since Gladney's arrest in December. But defense attorney Adam Fein says a misunderstanding that led to the threats is resolved.
Gladney is 45 and lives in Clayton. He has been convicted of distribution of a controlled substance and cited for disturbing the peace at an athletic event.
