A home at 139 E. Cape Rock Drive sustained extensive damage during a fire Saturday night, according to the Cape Girardeau Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived at the home, just after 10 p.m., they saw smoke coming from the rear of the home, said Battalion Chief Mark Starnes. East County Fire Protection District provided mutual aid.
The basement and first floor of the home were damaged, as was the roof. The damage is estimated at $75,000, according to Starnes.
No one was home at the time of the fire, which was reported by a neighbor.
