CAPE GIRARDEAU - A live satellite broadcast will be the basis of a shareholders meeting Tuesday in local Edward D. Jones & Co. offices. The seminar is for investors in American Fund's SMALLCAP World Fund mutual fund.

Tuesday's broadcast will be the first of four similar satellite broadcasts this year by the Jones firm. Others will cover other mutual funds held by large numbers of its customers.

The broadcast will originate from the Edward D. Jones home office in St. Louis. Investors in the SMALLCAP mutual fund will hear from its analysts and managers and be able to ask questions via direct telephone linkages.

Local representatives hosting the seminar in Cape Girardeau are Joe and Donna Domian, 1749-I Independence Square, and Bob Etherton, 211 N. Sprigg Streeet and in Jackson, Steve Elefson, 515 W. Main Street. The meetings will be set in the offices' conference rooms. Existing and potential investors in the mutual fund are invited.

SMALLCAP, introduced in March 1990, is targeted at investments in smaller companies from investors world-wide.

Edward D. Jones & Co. has 1,600 local offices and serves individual investors exclusively.
