The Texas lawyer successfully argued "Roe vs. Wade," the court case that led the high court to legalize abortion.
The event is sponsored by the Panhellenic Council and funded by student government.
In 1972, Weddington became the first woman elected from Austin to the Texas House of Representatives. She served three terms.
While there, she helped reform Texas rape statutes and blocked anti-abortion legislation.
From 1978 to 1981, Weddington served as a special assistant to President Carter for women's and minority affairs.
Weddington is a writer, lecturer and teacher and still practices law in Austin. She authored a best-selling book, "A Question of Choice."
