A second Subway Sandwich and Salads Shop has opened in Cape Girardeau.
"Our business has been great in Cape Girardeau," said owner Dave Alexander. "We decided that the city needed two Subway shops."
The newest operation opened at 252 Silver Springs Road last week.
Kay Kesterson is manager of the restaurant. Paul Kesterson manages the other Subway at 1315 Broadway.
"The operation will be the same," said Alexander. "We offer fresh deli sandwiches and salads. The bread is baked daily."
The new restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to about midnight seven days a week.
Alexander said the new store can seat about 35 people.
"The new location offers plenty of parking," said Alexander.
The operation employs 12 to 15 employees.
"We have a new four-inch value menu," said Alexander. "Sandwiches start at 79 cents."
The Broadway Subway Shop opened in June 1988.
