Southeast Missouri State University's Homecoming Steering Committee has elected senior Kim Sanchez as its 1992 chairperson.
Sanchez served as chairperson of the entertainment committee for last year's homecoming.
"I feel my experience will benefit the committee, for I have worked with planning groups in the past and have helped groups to incorporate their ideas into one theme," she said.
For the past two years, she has headed up Greek Week. As a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, she has been rush counselor and has held several officer positions. Sanchez also has served as a student government senator.
Sanchez said she wants activities and events of homecoming 1992 to represent the "total campus."
"I want to see homecoming support a greater volume of student organizations, faculty and staff," she said. "We have interest in them and want to incorporate activities that include them."
Jane Stacy, director of Southeast's alumni services, has worked with Sanchez on previous homecoming festivities. Stacy said, "Kim has done an outstanding job in the past in her role as entertainment chairperson. She has worked successfully in reaching deadlines and in making real accomplishments.
"Our homecoming activities will be part of a kickoff for Cape Girardeau's anniversary celebration. Our theme for those activities will be `Southeast Missouri State University: Rolling on the River,'" Stacy said.
