The Salvation Army will hold a Kettle Kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at West Park Mall.
A Salvation Army officer will give a short presentation, and Cape Girardeau and Jackson mayors Harry Rediger and Dwain Hahs will ring the first bell and announce a kettle goal for donations, Salvation Army Capt. Ronnie Amick said.
Andy’s Frozen Custard will provide ice cream for an ice-cream social after the announcement, Amick said.
Schnucks announced Thursday it will allow bell ringers and kettles in the foyer area and outside its grocery stores as an exception to its recent soliciting ban.
