During its Riverfest cruises, the spirit of St. Charles was piloted by its three captains, left to right, J. Dennis Flavan, Robyn Ruff, and Greg Bax. All are childhood friends who grew up together in St. Charles. Flavan's father, David, is the owner and president of the riverboat company. John Dennis Flavan, II, in the arms of Dennis Flavan, is the third generation of Flavan on the Spirit of St. Charles.
