PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Larry Tinker, president and business representative of Teamsters Local Union No. 600, said contract negotiations between Teamsters and Sabreliner Corp. still are ongoing, and will resume at 9 a.m. today.

The Republic Monitor of Perryville reported Thursday that Teamsters, which represents a large part of Sabreliner's employee base, unanimously voted "no" to Sabreliner's proposed contract terms.

The vote came after both parties agreed to a weeklong extension of the current contract because of ongoing negotiations of a new contract.

Phone calls to Steve Sperry, the vice president of business development at Sabreliner, have not been returned.

A strike is a possible outcome if a negotiated contract is not agreed upon.
