Are you stumped for a great Christmas gift idea? The Cape Girardeau Rotary Club has just the answer for your gift-giving needs.
The club is sponsoring its second annual citrus fruit sale through Nov. 20. Orders can be placed by calling either 335-3207 or 335-1969.
Money raised from the sale of the grapefruits and oranges will fund scholarships and donations to area charities, said Nancy Robinson, chairwoman of the fund-raising committee.
This is the club's most profitable fund-raiser, she said, adding that the fruit will be delivered Dec. 16.
Cost of 40 pounds of grapefruit or navel oranges is $20, and 20 pounds of either fruit cost $12. The Sunkist fruit is grown in Southern California.
The boxes make nice gifts for employees, nursing homes, relatives and friends, Robinson said.
The Cape Girardeau Rotary Club meets every Monday at noon at the Holiday Inn.
