KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Rockhurst University has received a $10 million donation, the largest gift in the school's history.
University spokeswoman Katherine Frohoff says the gift was from an alumna and her spouse, who want to remain anonymous.
The Jesuit university in Kansas City will use the money to begin a major construction project. Most of the cost of the $54 million project will come from a fundraising campaign.
The university's master plan includes a new academic building, new residence hall, a small theater and a parking garage. And Sedgwick Hall, the university's main academic building, will be renovated to house administrative offices.
The Kansas City Star reports that construction on the parking garage is expected to begin in the next six months.
