I-55 in Cape County reduced for pavement repairs

Southbound Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County at the Highway 74 interchange at mile marker 93 will be reduced to one lane with a 28-foot width restriction as contractor crews make pavement repairs. The work will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily from Friday through Oct. 11, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation news release.

Bridge repairs to impact Highway 74

As repairs are made to the southbound Interstate 55 bridge at mile marker 93 in Cape Girardeau County, Highway 74 traffic will be impacted, according to a news release issued by the Missouri Department of Transportation. The bridge is over Highway 74 in Cape Girardeau.

Periodic closures and lane reductions will be necessary on Highway 74 as contractor crews complete repairs. Anticipated impacts are:

• Highway 74 will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. daily Tuesday through Aug. 16. Highway 74 will be open to traffic between 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
• Highway 74 will be reduced with a 12-foot width restriction Aug. 16 through Oct. 11.
