Highway 74 in Cape County to be reduced for shoulder work
Highway 74 in Cape Girardeau County, between Highway 25 and County Road 214, will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews remove sand bags and barriers at Dutchtown. The work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily today through Thursday.
Sloan Creek maintenance near Big Bend Road begins
Contractor Zoellner Construction will begin maintenance to the slope of Sloan Creek near Big Bend Road in Cape Girardeau today, according to information provided by the city's Development Services Department. The work is expected to last about three weeks. During the project, Big Bend Road will remain open, but motorists are asked to use caution in the area. Workers will be present on Big Bend Road between North West End Boulevard and First Street. The project will protect Sloan Creek's slope northwest of the bridge on Big Bend and will include clearing, grubbing, tree removal, upgrading storm sewer structures and pipes, inlet modification and other grading.
