One-lane traffic continues on Cairo bridge
CAIRO, Ill. -- A Missouri Department of Transportation news release reminds travelers that the U.S. 51 Ohio River bridge between Wickliffe, Kentucky, and Cairo will continue to be restricted to one lane this week. The daytime restriction by a contractor with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is to allow a detailed inspection of the structure. Motorists should be alert for equipment, flaggers and personnel on the bridge deck in close proximity to traffic flow. The restrictions will be in effect between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.
Emerson bridge reduced for inspection this month
Highway 34 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform an inspection of the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge. The inspection will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily Monday through Aug. 21, according to a MoDOT news release.
Route PP in Stoddard County closed for repairs
Route PP in Stoddard County will be closed from Hawk Street to Hickman Street in Puxico, Missouri, as contractors replace a bridge with a box culvert. The work will take place Sept. 2 through Oct. 31, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation news release.
