RIVERFEST VOLUNTEER MEETING THURSDAY

A volunteer kick-off meeting for Riverfest 1996 will be held Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Port Cape Girardeau.

The meeting serves to recruit people who want to be part of the Riverfest celebration and to gather ideas on how to make the event better.

Riverfest will be held June 14-15 in downtown Cape Girardeau. The theme is "Mississippi Magic."

"We want to involve as many volunteers as possible," Laurel Adkisson, general chairman of Riverfest 1996, said. "If anyone wants to be a part of Riverfest, we have a job for them."
