MARBLE HILL -- Rick Jones has settled in as Marble Hill's new city administrator.
A former radio station employee, Jones began his job on July 1.
He replaces David Jackson, who worked for the city for seven years. Jackson left to take a job as safety director for Black River Electric Cooperative.
Jones, 40, has lived in Marble Hill for five and a half years.
He was general manager in sales at FM 104.1, a Christian-music radio station at Marble Hill. He also handled on-air duties at the station.
Jones said public relations is a big part of the job of city administrator. He said his radio experience will help him in that area.
As a small-town administrator, Jones said he isn't tied to a desk job. He has to handle duties that include building inspections and the enforcement of zoning laws.
He said he inherited a well-managed city, which has made his job easier.
"That was a good thing about David. He kept good notes and records, and kept pretty much on top of it," Jones said.
The Bollinger County city has a population of 1,500.
