Rick Francis of Perryville, Missouri, won the Republican primary for the position of Missouri House representative for District 145.

Francis defeated opponent Chad Unterreiner, also of Perryville.

The 145th District covers all of Bollinger and Madison counties and most of Perry County.

In the final results, Francis, a farmer and former educator, received 3,956 votes, for a total of 64.4 percent. Unterreiner, a fitness coordinator for the city of Perryville, took in 2,186 votes, or 35.6 percent.

Francis received the majority of votes in Bollinger and Madison counties — 73.5 percent and 78.49 percent, respectively. Unterreiner earned over half of Perry County’s Republican votes, for a total of 53.15 percent.

Francis will face Democratic candidate Ronald Pember and Constitution Party candidate Victoria “Tori” Proffer, both of Fredericktown, Missouri, for the position of 145th state representative. The winner of the November election will succeed incumbent Rep. Shelley Keeney Taylor of Marble Hill, Missouri, who has served four two-year terms. Taylor is barred from seeking re-election because of term limits.
