BLOOMFIELD -- Mark Richmond received the most votes in Tuesday's Advance Board of Education election to unseat incumbent Tony Jenkins.

Richmond compiled 323 votes, followed by 304 for incumbent Rodney Cantrell and 298 for Jenkins. Richmond had previously served six years on the board.

Richmond and Cantrell won the two seats up for election to the Advance School District board. They will serve three-year terms.

Also running were Kevin Hawkins with 148 votes and Scott D. Markham with 92 votes.

The totals include votes from school district residents who live in Stoddard, Bollinger and Cape counties.
