RICE MEETING

POPLAR BLUFF -- Charles Kruse, director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture will be guest speaker at the 7th annual meeting of Missouri Rice Council, to be held here Feb. 21.

The 6:30 p.m. meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn, and is open to anyone interested in rice.

The meeting is sponsored by a grant to the rice Foundation by Ciba-Geigy Agriculture Division.

Following Kruse's talk, USA Rice Council representatives will update growers on the promotional programs that are developing markets for U.S. rice at home and overseas.

Rice growers in Missouri pay a 3-cent per cwt. checkoff for promotion.
