U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, Jackson Mayor Barbara Lohr and other officials are scheduled to speak at the Highway 25 ribbon cutting in front of South Elementary School in Jackson at 1 p.m. today. The construction project got underway in May and was intended to alleviate congestion near the school. Improvements made during the project include turning lanes, a wider parking lot entrance and additional parking spaces. A traffic signal is scheduled to be installed later this month. More information on the ceremony is available by calling the Missouri Department of Transportation at 888-275-6636.
