Rep. Jason Smith's Cape Girardeau office will be the site of a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open-house reception Friday.
The Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce will host the 11 a.m. ribbon-cutting at the Republican congressman's office at 2502 Tanner Drive, Suite 205, followed by an open house until noon, according to a chamber of commerce news release.
The event is open to the public, and Smith and his staff will be present to meet constituents, the release said. Smith won a landslide victory last month to replace Rep. Jo Ann Emerson as representative for Missouri's 8th Congressional District.
