Although a ribbon-cutting was held Tuesday to celebrate completion of the Ramsey Creek Bridge Project and the almost three-mile stretch of road connecting routes K and AB in Scott City, it's possible the road will not be ready for traffic for couple of weeks.
Project construction began nearly two years ago on an almost three-mile length of road intended to reduce the lines of traffic exiting Scott City in the mornings and coming into town each evening.
Matt Seiler, assistant district engineer in the Missouri Department of Transportation's Southeast District, said Tuesday that guardrails need to be installed at the Ramsey Creek Bridge and more paint striping needs to be done on the road. Additional road signs also need to be erected.
Seiler said that according to a MoDOT engineer involved with the project, the remainder of the work could be completed by the end of the week. But Seiler cautioned it might take two weeks for the project to be fully realized.
