After issuing a news release Wednesday, law-enforcement officials have found two eye-witnesses they were searching for in connection with a shooting in Cape Girardeau.
However, no arrests had been made by Thursday afternoon.
Police were searching for Deion "Lester" Phillips and Devon "Day Day da Kidd" Smith, both of Cape Girardeau, after beliving they witnessed the apparent drive-by shooting earlier in the week.
At 2:46 p.m. on June 29, a woman was sitting on the porch of a residence at 401 S. Hanover St. and was shot in the head during the shooting. As of Thursday afternoon, she remained in serious condition at a hospital, said Sgt. Adam Glueck of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
The Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad sent out a news release Wednesday saying a $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Case Squad at 335-6621. Witnesses also may give tips anonymously, with no testimony required.
