The Student Government at Southeast Missouri State University is urging non-traditional students to return by July 31 a recently distributed survey regarding on-campus childcare.
The survey was mailed to about 2,500 non-traditional Southeast students to determine the students' needs for childcare.
Non-traditional students are at least 25 years old or single, married, widowed or divorced with dependent children.
The group also includes veterans, holders of GEDs or individuals returning to college after at least a year's absence from formal schooling.
In April, Student Government held an open forum on the issue of on-campus childcare. Student and local day care operators were invited to express their views. As a result, a childcare task force was established, and it spearheaded the survey mailing.
Student Government asks recipients to return the survey to: "Southeast Missouri State University, c/o Student Government, One University Plaza, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63701."
For more information, call the Student Government office at (314) 651-2896 or stop by the office on the second floor of the University Center.
