CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The annual meeting of Southeast Missouri District Retired Teachers Association will be held Friday at the University Center Party Room.
Southeast Missouri State University president Kala Stroup will be the after-luncheon speaker. Her topic will be "Bringing Tomorrow into Focus."
Special guests will be Ellen Jane Meade, president of Retired Teachers Association of Missouri, Lucille Riutcel, state membership chairman, and Mary Trask, recording secretary for the organization.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m. and the luncheon begins at noon. President of the district association Melvin Gateley, of Cape Girardeau, will preside at the business meeting.
Other district officers include Anna Branson of Farmington, vice president; Martha Stickler of Cape Girardeau, secretary, and Jewel Harber of Sikeston, treasurer.
The Southeast Missouri district is comprised of 13 county units. More than 100 retired teachers are expected to attend the meeting.
