ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis police are looking into a shooting involving a retired police officer.

It happened at Pooh's Corner bar late Monday when two suspects announced a robbery. Police say a retired officer in the bar shot one of the suspects in the buttocks.

The suspect was taken to a hospital for surgery. There was no word on his condition.

The second suspect got away.

The name of the retired officer was not released. It wasn't immediately known if either suspect had a weapon.
