Comments:

* "The old Sears building would have been the best place. It is more centrally located, has plenty of room inside and lots of parking outside. But government decisions never make much sense."

* "We use the post office a lot for work. We are right up the street."

* "There was no need for this move."

* "Parking is terrible. We need a new post office."

* "There is still no parking and still long lines. Now there's an obnoxiously creaky door to boot."

* "It's further from the center of town and very inconvenient."

* "They should have bought the old Sears building."

* "What good does having an opinion do? The powers that be will make a stupid decision, as usual."

* "It's foolish that the post office hasn't moved with Cape's development to a more centralized location. Cape has three zip codes. Maybe it's time for another post office in this town."

* "There isn't enough parking to accommodate patrons or the people that live in the area. And why do all the 15 to 18 bright lights have to be left on all night? Lastly, the post office's return to its original location makes the intersections at North and Frederick streets, and Bellevue and Frederick streets, even more dangerous."

* "The parking is a little better, but it's still bad. The lobby is longer and better lit, but the service is still slow. But we're talking about the U.S. Post Office. I don't see $1 million-plus in that old building."

* "They wasted a great opportunity by not taking the old Sears building."

* "I still think they should have moved into the old Sears building."

* "I'm very glad they moved. It's so much easier to get to and park."

* "I don't use that location anyway."

* "The post office should have relocated to a central part of town, convenient to all residents, but the U.S. Postal Service just thumbs its nose at us peons and won't even listen to our elected representatives. So I'm going to boycott the Frederick Street post office."

* "I liked it off William Street because it was in a better neighborhood."

* "I can no longer tell my out-of-town friends that the post office in my town is right next door to the gun shop."

* "We have traveled more than 5,000 miles this past month seeing the beautiful Northwest. Many times we have commented how beautiful the U.S. Post Offices were in the numerous cities and small towns which we visited. Sad that we can't have that in Cape Girardeau."

* "The old Sears building would have been perfect! But the postal authorities know what's best for the people."

* "Such a bad neighborhood. It should really be moved somewhere a little nicer."
