RESTRICTED PARKING IS SET FOR HOMECOMING PARADE

There will be restricted parking in Cape Girardeau Saturday for the Southeast Missouri State University Homecoming parade, Cape Girardeau Police said.

Beginning at 2 a.m. Saturday, parking will be prohibited on both sides of Broadway from North West End Boulevard to Main Street; on Main Street from Broadway to William; on North West End Boulevard from Broadway to Pemiscot; and on North Louisiana, 100 feet south of Broadway.

Vehicles parked in the areas after 2 a.m. will be towed from the street, said police.

Police officers will erect signs and other control devices. Parking will be restored on the streets immediately after the parade, said police.

The parade is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday. The precautions are taken for the safety of parade spectators and participants.
