Hamburger Express, 902 William, is under new management and is holding a promotion this weekend.
Betty Dickerson, who has been hired as general manager of the drive-through restaurant, said some changes have been instituted.
"We are adding barbecue, ranch-seasoned fries and lemonade tea to the menu," she said. "And we have increased the food quality and quickened the service with new procedures and new quality standards."
The promotion, which concludes today, includes free samples of shakes with food purchases and a free meal to the person guessing the number of pickles in a jar. Some workers are dressed in costume.
The restaurant opened in 1988.
