Two members of Congress and a hopeful for Missouri's 8th Congressional District will headline this year's Lincoln Day dinner presented by the Cape Girardeau County Republican Women's Club.

U.S. Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Okla., U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner, R-Mo. and Jason Smith, a Republican candidate who is running for a vacant congressional seat, will speak during Saturday's dinner at 6 p.m. at Ray's Plaza Conference Center in Cape Girardeau.

Lucas represents Oklahoma's 3rd Congressional District and is chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture. He also serves on House committees for financial services and science, space and technology and is a member of the Republican Whip Team.

Wagner is serving her first term representing Missouri's 2nd District.

Smith is speaker pro tem of the Missouri House of Representatives, and in February was nominated to run for the 8th District seat, which was vacated in January by former representative JoAnn Emerson.

Other speakers will include Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, state Auditor Tom Schweich, state Sen. Wayne Wallingford and state Reps. Donna Lichtenegger and Kathy Swan. Missouri Republican Party chairman Ed Martin will act as master of ceremonies.

The event is open to the public and tickets are available for $20 in advance at Horizon Screen Printing and JCS Wireless in Cape Girardeau and at the Cashbook Journal in Jackson. Tickets purchased at the door are $25. For more information, call club president Holly Lintner at 200-4073.
