The November meeting of the American Legion Post# 158 was called to order by Commander Seabaugh, at 8 p.m. The Color Guard advanced the colors, Chaplain Boyd Summers, gave the opening prayer. The pledge of allegiance to the flag, and the preamble of the American Legion Constitution were recited in unison by the 46 members present.
Minutes of the October, 1999 meeting were approved as printed.
Program: Mr. Rick Sparks, of the University of Missouri Extension shared a program about the Extension and its services. He talked about the services including counseling to individual companies and corporations. Help is available to start a new business. The local extension office is raising funds to build a new office building. Pledges and payments total over $150,000 at the present time. This is almost half the funds needed. No fees are charged for their services. Mr. Sparks can be reached at 243-3581Financial Report: Mike Proctor Report approved as read. Motion to provide $60 a month for Bingo at the Cape VA Home. Motion carried.
Membership: Lloyd Law Membership stands at 477 for the year 2000.
Graves Information. Glen Bollinger No reportTrustee: Harlen Siebert. Recommended that we allow custodian to wax the hall floor at a cost of $200 and an additional $75 to clean the walls. Motion passed.
Child Welfare-Club Room -Hospital: Bill Poe. Report approved as read. Paul Brugger donated a wheel chair, Gary Evans gave a pair of crutches to the Post. Wal-Mart has requested that the Honor Guard assist in raising funds for the Washington D.C. WWII memorial.
Post Flag Information: Carlton Meyer. Reported on flags given away during the past month.
Americanism Committee: Charles Hutson. Oratorical contest will be in December. Motion made to be a corporate sponsor for the Veterans Home golf tournament in June of 2000. The cost would be $1,500. Motion carried. To be brought up at next meeting for a second reading.
House Report: Leon Laurentius Approved as read. House is very busy during December!!Honor Guard: Bill Sullivan: Service was held for Floyd Puchbauer. Our prayers are with the Puchbauer family.

Mike Hyson, manager of the American Legion Bingo announced that both he and Harold Landgraf will resign from the Bingo committee effective January 1, 200. These two gentleman have given generously of their time and talents to the Post Bingo activities for the past nine and a half years. Words cannot express he sincere appreciation the Post has for their contributions over the years. Commander Seabaugh will search for members to fill his vacancy.
Drawing Five names were drawn for the "pot." The fifth name drawn was Bill Sullivan. Color Guard retired the Colors. Chaplain Boyd Summers gave closing prayer. Closed the meeting at 9:15 p.m.
