The 150-foot-long sign was taken down about a month ago for the first time since it was installed in 1979. The brewery spent more than $500,000 to make the sign shine more brightly, using LED technology that will better stand up to the elements.

Officials say the revitalized sign is 60 percent more energy efficient than the old one.
