Lynwood takes part in annual Parade of Lights
Lynwood Baptist Church will not have evening services or activities Sunday so that members can participate in the Christmas Parade of Lights. AWANA and WAK children and their parents are invited to walk with the church's choir float.
Seasonal events planned at Lynwood Baptist
Lynwood Baptist Church will hold its annual Heartland Pops Orchestra and Choir Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. Friday in the Worship Center. To buy tickets, contact Paul Hodge at 334-4043. The church's Women's Ministry Christmas brunch and home tour will be held at 9 a.m. Dec. 4. Tickets for the brunch can be purchased in the church's foyer on Sunday morning.
International missions emphasis at First Baptist
First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau is holding a weeklong event focusing on its international missions Monday through Dec. 5. International Mission Night will be at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, with a Mexican meal at 6:30 p.m. For reservations, required for the meal, contact the church at 335-6006. A luncheon at the church will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Church prepares food baskets for the needy
Christmas food baskets from Lynwood Baptist Church members will be delivered Dec. 11. To submit the name of a family who would like a basket, complete a form in the church office by Monday. The office is at 2935 Lynwood Hills Drive in Cape Girardeau.
The Bollinger County Community Choir will present "The Glory of the Lord," a choral celebration for Christmas, in area churches. At 3 p.m. Dec. 5 the choir will sing at Marble Hill United Methodist and at 7 p.m. at Patton United Methodist. At 3 p.m. Dec. 12 the choir performs at Zion United Methodist in Gordonville, and at 7 p.m. at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist.
Trinity Lutheran Church will hold its annual Ladies' Junior Aid holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 4 in the church's fellowship room. There will be crafts, baked good, glassware, books, collectibles and more for sale. A chicken and dumplings luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a cost for the meal.
