Trinity Lutheran Church installs new pastor

The Rev. Kevin Olson was installed during a service July 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills. The Rev. David Dissen, pastor emeritus of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, was among the area Lutheran clergy who participated in the service.

Vacation Bible schools planned in area

Iona Baptist Church will hold vacation Bible school from Aug. 6 to 8 at the church. The theme is "Rickshaw Rally," and children from infants to age 12 are invited to attend. The events run from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 6 and continue from 9 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and 8. Lunch is provided on those days.

Sedgewickville Baptist Church will hold "Lava Lava Island" vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 2 to 6 at the church. For information, call (573) 266-0023.

Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City will host "Lava Lava Island" vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 1 to 5. Children ages 3 through those who've completed sixth grade can attend. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. For information, call 264-4627.

Gospel group to sing at Church of God

The gospel group Saved by Grace will perform at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Church of God in Cape Girardeau.
