Sunday
Gaslight sing at 7 p.m. at Apple Creek Presbyterian Church, sponsored by the Memorial Association. The church is just north of Pocahontas, Mo. Performers include Andrea and Allison Penzel, Arthur Bender, Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Tuschoff, Tom Martin and the Gaslight Singers from First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Mo. Carolyn Thompson will accompany on the organ.
Mission festival begins at 9:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, Mo. Speaker is the Rev. Kevin Parviz, pastor of Congregation Chai V'Shalom in St. Louis. He will speak during the 8:30 a.m. adult Bible study also.
Wednesday
Evening with the Mayors prayer service at 6:45 p.m. at Osage Community Centre. Speaker is Jennifer Kennedy Dean. Tickets are $8 per person. To reserve a ticket, call 339-1297. The service will include light refreshments.
Youth prayer rally at 7 p.m. at Freedom Rock Youth Center, with special music by Sampson and the Regeneration choir. For information, call Mary Goins at 334-1321.
Thursday
National Day of Prayer is marked. Services will be at noon at the Cape Girardeau County Courthouse in Jackson, Mo. In case of rain, the service will be inside the First Presbyterian Church. Participants are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Prayer service at 12:10 p.m. at the caboose on Main Street in Scott City, Mo. Several area pastors will pray for the government, country, schools and community.
Prayer service at 7 p.m. at Leona Burst Civic Center in Ullin, Ill., sponsored by the Egyptian School Prayer Group and the Community Prayer Partners.
