The Apple Creek annual vesper service will be held at 3 p.m. with a basket dinner on the church grounds. The speaker is the Rev. Joel Hebert from Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.

First Presbyterian Church is celebrating Agape Sunday with a BBQ chicken lunch, fellowship and games. The service begins at 10:45 a.m., and the meal is at noon.

Tuesday

Grace United Methodist Women meet, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall with the Copeland Circle, followed by the Sander Circle at 12:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall and the evening circle at 6:30 p.m. in the home of Grace Hoover.

First Christian Church will hold a carry-in dinner for members of the Southeast Missouri State University marching band at 6:30 p.m.

Free Trinity Pentecostal Church will begin a tent revival in Randles that continues through Friday.

Friday

Youth garage sale at First Christian

First Christian Church will hold its annual youth garage sale Sept. 24 to help raise funds for the youths' work trip in the summer of 2006. The sale will be held at the church.

Dinner auction for St. Joseph School

The 14th annual St. Joseph School dinner auction will be held Oct. 8 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City. For more information, call 264-2344.

Tygett named to Catholic fellowship

Maureen Tygett, a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson, has begun studies in a graduate program designed to build new models of leadership teams in Catholic parishes.

Tygett was awarded a fellowship in the Apollos Project at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis.

Areawide women's conference

Jackson First General Baptist Church will hold an areawide, non-denominational women's conference from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 24 The theme is "Extreme Makeover: Faith Edition." Guest speaker is singer/songwriter Ginger Millermon. For more information, call 243-8467.
