Church of Jesus Christ has building dedication
JACKSON, Mo. -- The Church of Jesus Christ in Jackson will dedicate its new building at 1 p.m. today at 721 County Road 316. The church had been meeting at 120 N. Oklahoma St.
Worship services are at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.
Area churches plan for vacation Bible schools
Several area churches are making plans for vacation Bible schools and activities for children.
Following is a schedule and contact information:
First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau will hold a "Amazon Outfitters" theme Bible school Monday through Friday for children ages 4 through sixth grade. A musical is planned for June 16 to be followed by a barbecue lunch for the children and their families. To register, call 334-9691 or visit the Web site at www.fbccape.org.
Perkins Baptist Church will hold a kickoff for its vacation Bible school at 5 p.m. Sunday followed by refreshments at 6 p.m. and Jurrock's Park exhibits at 6:30 p.m. Vacation Bible school will be from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The theme is "Amazon Outfitters." Call (573) 794-2035 for transportation.
First Baptist Church in Tamms, Ill., will host "Amazon Outfitters" vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday for children ages 4 through sixth grade.
First General Baptist Church in Jackson, Mo., will hold a "Salvation Safari Kid's Krusade" Sunday through Wednesday at the church. The vacation Bible school begins at 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and should last for one hour.
Lynwood Baptist Church will hold its vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon June 17 to 21. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade can attend. The theme is "Amazon Rain Forest Adventure." For information or to register, call 334-4600.
Lutheran school plans Pampered Chef benefit
Saxony Lutheran High School is hosting a Pampered Chef benefit Thursday evening to raise money for the school. The event is at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, Mo.
Saxony will earn 25 percent profit on the sales during the event. Pampered Chef sells kitchen cookware, gadgets and utensils. For information or to attend, contact Rhonda Zacharias, development director for the school, at 204-0007.
