Fruitland church adds DivorceCare ministry

Fruitland Community Church is adding a new class for people who are recently divorced or separated. The DivorceCare class will meet at 6:30 p.m each Wednesday, beginning this week, at Grace Cafe in Cape Girardeau. The sessions will be lead by Del McKinney. There is a fee for a workbook.

Speaker from Central States Synod at St. Mark

The Rev. Janice Kibler will be speaking during services May 16 at St. Mark Lutheran Church ELCA in Cape Girardeau. Kibler is the assistant to the bishop of the Central States Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She oversees the pastoral call process for the 265 congregations in Missouri and Kansas. Worship is at 10 a.m. but she will be available at 8:45 a.m. to talk about the call process.

Jackson church to feature Rivermen Quartet May 23

The Rivermen Quartet will perform at First Baptist Church in Jackson at 7 p.m. May 23. The group's members are Doug Thornton, Charlie Brown, Bruce Marrs and Stephen Daume.

Baptist church to hold annual choir day May 16

Second Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau will hold its annual Choir Day at 3 p.m. May 16. Guest speaker is Pastor Larry T. Barnett of St. John's Praise and Worship Center in Pulaski, Ill.

St. Andrew church plans patriotic concert

St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau will hold a patriotic concert at 4 p.m. May 23. The concert will include patriotic songs and anthems, selections by a brass quartet and a list of names of veterans and military personnel.

Gospel concert featured at Patton church May 23

Patton United Methodist Church in Patton, Mo., will feature gospel singing May 23. The New Beginning Quartet will sing during the morning worship service at 10:40 a.m. and then present their gospel concert at 1:30 p.m.
