New pastor to start at Clearview Baptist
SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Keith Green is the new pastor of Clearview Baptist Church in Scott City, Mo. Green is currently enrolled in the American Bible and Theological Seminary in Oklahoma City, Okla., and expects to finish his degree next year.
He has worked in a mission start-up church, Gateway Church, in Wentzville, Mo. He is a graduate of Missouri Valley College.
Green is the grandson of Stella Mullin of Sikeston, Mo.
He and his wife, Tracy, have one son.
Gospel singing coming to Shiloh Baptist
VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Shiloh Baptist Church in Villa Ridge will host gospel singing at 7 p.m. June 1. The featured guests are Called Out, a Kentucky group, and the Gloryroad Travelers from Mounds, Ill. For more information, call 618-995-2306.
Walk through New Testament planned
Lynwood Baptist Church is hosting the Walk thru the New Testament program as a hands-on Bible learning activity. The event will be June 2 from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. The fee is $10. Call 334-4600 to register.
Christian vocalist to sing at Hanover
Robyn Hosp will perform a medley of songs at the 6 p.m. evening service at Hanover Lutheran Church on June 2. A pizza fellowship will be held at 5 p.m. at the church. For information, call 335-8583.
Clothing, shoes needed as donations
St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church is collecting clothing, bedding, towels, shoes and some household linens for the Remains, Inc., program based in St. Louis, Mo.
The program collects used clothing and some household items to send to Third World nations. No hangers, pillows, rugs, wet or mildewed items can be accepted. Shoes cannot be canvas-type.
A collection truck will be at the church through June 3. Call Clara Daniels at 335-3235 or Midge Wilson at 335-0075 prior to arranging a drop-off.
Church of Christ plans building dedication
JACKSON, Mo. -- The Church of Christ in Jackson will dedicate its new building at 1 p.m. June 8 at 721 County Road 316. The church was formerly meeting at 120 N. Oklahoma St.
Worship services are at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Gospel singing planned at Methodist church
WHITEWATER, Mo. -- Whitewater Methodist Church will hold a gospel sing June 8, beginning at 5 p.m.
The Maynard Quartet will sing from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by the McAtees from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There will be refreshments. Admission is free.
British radio singer performs concert in Cape
Cape Bible Chapel will host Nia in concert at 7 p.m. June 2.
Admission is free and a love offering will be collected.
Nia uses praise and worship music she's written herself to express the gospel message. She hosts a gospel show for BBC Radio and appears regularly on television in her native Great Britain.
Proceeds from her concerts help fund mission efforts. She is an honorary vice president for Operation Christmas Child and a ministry partner for Global Outreach.
