Africa missionary to speak at Cape Bible Chapel

Dale Hamilton, a missionary to Tanzania, Africa, with Africa Inland Mission, will be the guest speaker at a Missions Conference Sunday and Monday at Cape Bible Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Hamilton and his wife, Chris, a nurse, work on the islands of Lake Victoria, Tanzania, implementing community health evangelism programs and operating a medical program directed at maternal and child health with an emphasis on sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS. The mission conference will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday and at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday. A nursery and children's program is provided. For more information, call 334-5948.

Church begins free seminar on Book of Revelation

Fruitland Church of Christ will sponsor a free seminar on the Book of Revelation beginning Sunday and continuing through April 4. The series, called "Overcoming," will examine how to interpret Scripture and will include time for questions. Speaker for the seminar is Steve Singleton of Dallas. Seminar times are at 9 and 10 a.m. Sunday and again at 1:30 and 6 p.m. Weekday sessions are at 7 p.m. For information, phone Joe Chesser at 204-7716.

First Christian Church calls interim minister

First Christian Church in Cape Girardeau has called the Rev. Rodger Kiepe as interim minister. He begins his duties April 4. Kiepe is from DeSoto, Mo. His wife serves as pastor at Festus, Mo.

Revival planned at First Free Will Baptist Church

First Free Will Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau will hold revival services April 4 to 9 with the Rev. Charles Miller of DeSoto, Mo. Miller has pastored many Missouri Free Will Baptist churches. Service times are at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. A meal will be served following the April 4 worship service. Weeknight service times are at 7 p.m.

Students to support pro-life cause with T-shirt day

Voice for Life, a local pro-life organization, is offering T-shirts for students to wear on National Students Pro-Life T-shirt day April 27. Shirts designed especially for this event are being offered for a nominal charge. Voice for Life is joining the American Life League in promoting the T-shirt day. Order deadline is April 2. Cowboy Church continues to round 'em up for services

The Cape County Cowboy Church continues to draw crowds for its services at the Fruitland Livestock Barn. The church regularly attracts 300 people for worship and is considering a second service if attendance continues to increase. A "Spring Roundup" is planned during late April at the A.C. Brase Arena Building in Cape Girardeau. The roundup service will be similar to a revival with music and preaching, said the Rev. Jim Matthews, pastor. A horse whisperer is coming to the Flickerwood Arena April 2 as part of an evangelism event the church and Missouri Baptist Convention are sponsoring.

La Croix to move Easter services to Osage Centre

La Croix United Methodist Church will move its weekend worship services to the Osage Community Centre for Easter. Because of large crowds and construction at the church site, the services are being moved for the holiday weekend. Services are at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday. Children's programming will be held at the church campus.
